Street Road Reconsidering Place Tour

Street Road
Cochranville, PA

Presenters: Street Road Artists Space

Bus departs from the Friends Center

Meet at 10:30 AM for a 10:45 AM sharp departure

Meet in Philadelphia for a roughly hour-long ride out to rural Pennsylvania to explore suburban and rural artist projects at and nearby Street Road Artists Space.

Featured Projects at Street Road include: Clouded Title, Crisis Farm: Seed to Table, The Dust: American Matter, Folly, Homma Meridian at Street Road, The Roots of Resistance, and Seven Million Acres - Pride of Place.

Time permitting, the group will visit Street Road’s little-bit-bigger Little Free Library (the LFL19330), five miles away. This one-year-old, 500 square foot space includes a free section, a lending section and an Artist Books collection, and is available for community use as a library and for meetings and events.

Transit to and from Street Road are included in this tour, as are bites while in Chester County. Lunch will be provided, and will include ingredients from the on-site project Crisis Farm, as well as from Street Road neighbors/permaculture practitioners StellaLou Farm.

On the drive to Street Road, Carol Maurer and Denise Holland lead A Mobile Drift: follow a score and document the journey with an interactive investigation of the aesthetics of the urban through the rural.
