Daydream ZineScapes :: Self Check-In Zine Making Workshop

Saturday, Nov 13
12pm EST/9am PST

Care Space: 60 min

Organized by metaDEN PACK (People Activating Communal Knowledge)
Facilitated by T

Metaphors and zines can be useful, playful, and pleasurable tools for checking in with oneself – especially when embodiment is difficult. In this workshop, participants will hold space for creating and dreaming themselves as planets, terrains, ecosystems, creatures, flowers, while reflecting on what aggravates and nourishes their systems. A group meditation and check-in zine creation workshop will create space for reflection and grounding of body and mind. Participants will need paper, something to write with, and whatever embellishments and art supplies they may desire!

T (they/them) practices rest and medicine making in the South. They are passionate about remembering ancestral technologies and arts/crafts. Currently, they dream of learning to garden.

metaDEN is a healing incubator curated by/for BIPOC that centers the queer and trans community. We bring together a PACK of BIPOC facilitators, practitioners, and artists to provide various creative forms of healing and social justice. Before COVID-19, we provided physical space in Brooklyn, NY. For the safety of our community, we have now adapted to a virtual platform and are currently offering programming online and collaborating with aligned organizations. We were co-founded by Joss Martinez (they/them) + McKenzie Angelo Martinez (she/her) in 2018.
