Program Manager

Headlands Center for the Arts seeks a full-time Program Manager to join our team. Review of applications will begin March 20, 2018 and the position is open until filled.

The Program Manager works directly with programming and other departments to streamline, organize and implement activities across Headlands’ Artists Programs and Public Events. As a steward of Headlands’ Affiliate Artist and Graduate Fellowship programs, the Program Manager manages their processes and seeks areas of improvement, keeping abreast of best practices and changes in the field of artist support and community engagement. Additionally, the Program Manager works with the Director of Programs to develop and present public events, including working internally across departments to produce communications and outreach materials and to ensure smooth and successful execution. This position provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic creative community and to engage directly with working artists and creative professionals.


The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, dynamic individual who excels in a fast-paced creative environment, thinks logistically, and is impeccably organized.

At least three years experience working with artists, public events, and/or organizing professional gatherings.

Experience in an arts or non-profit management role preferred.

High level of conversance with administrative software such as Microsoft Office or the equivalent required; familiarity with Filemaker Pro or other database system, as well as website maintenance and design software strongly preferred.

Due to our Marin Headlands location, reliable vehicle access is required.
