Transformer Open Call for 2019 Exhibitions

Transformer seeks proposals from national artists, curators, and cultural organizers for site-responsive, thoughtful, exhibitions and projects for the 2019 exhibition cycle, in its storefront exhibition space at 1404 P Street, NW, Washington, DC.

As an artist-centered organization, Transformer is committed to providing all participating artists and curators W.A.G.E certified rates for honorariums, a budget for material costs as well as travel/accommodation support as needed/feasible.

WHO: Artists, curators, collectives, peer arts organizations, writers, and creative individuals at a self-defined emerging level, regardless of background or location can apply (we encourage applications from artists/collectives both inside and outside the DMV area).

WHAT: 2019 Exhibition Proposals that are...

- Site-specific and include more than one artist - i.e: no solo-shows

- Fully realized and conceptualized with a unifying concept to all of the work

- Ambitious in scope but realistic in their ability to be executed in the time and budget provided.
