Claire Huschle

Director, School of Art, George Mason University
Due Dec 17 2018

George Mason University is looking for an experienced leader ready for the opportunity to advance Mason’s growing reputation as a place for dynamic, interdisciplinary, and forward-thinking artistic practice and education. The ideal candidate will bring a balanced perspective as an educator, a deep knowledge of contemporary art, as well as administrative experience that enables them to oversee programming, operations, and fundraising initiatives. The person will begin in advance of the 2019-20 school year. Individuals with professional experience outside of academia are asked to seriously consider the opportunity.

The School of Art is housed in an award-winning facility that includes a sizable gallery, a functional sculpture yard, and state-of-the-art digital design and printmaking studios. The well-established department includes a number of internationally recognized and lauded faculty members. The School of Art is particularly proud of the intersections they make with social justice through the on-site Provisions Library as well as the Floating Lab and EcoScience & Art initiatives. Mason is proud of its diverse student body: it is one of the most diverse public universities in the country.
