The Luminary

Full-Time Manager at The Luminary
Due Dec 31 2019

The Luminary, a leading platform for art, thought, and action based in St. Louis, is hiring for several new positions to open 2020, including a new full-time Manager position, a Curatorial Assistant and Project Lead for a new platform in the suburbs of St. Louis, and a number of paid internships in a range of areas.

The Luminary is particularly seeking a dynamic full-time, salaried Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the organization. Effective in January 2020, this full-time, 40 hour per week role will oversee The Luminary's wide-ranging office and administrative needs alongside the Executive Director and Board of Directors. We are looking for a self-organized, supportive, collaborative, and connective Manager to join a small, very active team of staff, volunteers, and artists that sustain the everyday activities of The Luminary.

This position offers the right applicant an opportunity to support the expansive programs, operations, and initiatives of a growing nonprofit with international reach, to work with artists to further their work, connect deeply within our communities, and to learn leadership skills as a part of a supportive and collaborative working structure. This role is administrative in nature, but an interest and knowledge of contemporary art and The Luminary is recommended.

Primary responsibilities include serving as an initial contact and public representative of the organization’s numerous activities; offering basic bookkeeping, filing, and administrative support; staffing open gallery hours; supporting basic marketing and communications; and overseeing the nuanced administration and operations of an active nonprofit.
