Hours: 20 hours/week leading up to program with overtime in advance and during the Convening
Rate: $20/hour
Reports to: Convening Program Director
Location: This position is remote and does not require travel.

Position Summary:

Common Field’s Convening Registration & Attendee Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative support for the 2021 Online Convening project. This individual – reporting to the Convening Program Director and working closely with the Communications & Operations Manager and Network Coordinator – serves as the primary point-of-contact for hundreds of Convening attendees, overseeing a streamlined virtual registration process that is open and accessible to all.

About the Convening:

The Common Field Convening is an itinerant gathering that brings together organizers nationwide to share resources, knowledge, and methods for artist-led, -run, and -centered projects, spaces, and practices since 2015. In 2020, the Convening transitioned to an online program, and will continue to be online in the 2021 iteration.

Roles & Responsibilities

Attendee Support

  • Ensure all attendee-oriented communications – including ticket confirmations, program reminders, and waitlist releases – are clear, intuitive and user-friendly

  • Regularly respond to incoming questions, requests, etc. in an approachable and thoughtful manner

  • Document accessibility needs while working to implement navigable and open digital platforms

  • Oversee the distribution of a post-Convening survey

Registration Management

  • Research and recommend online ticketing platform that best meets constellation of Convening needs

  • Build and maintain both overall session and individual session registration pathways as needed

  • Run regular reports to track attendance, capacity, attrition, and relevant demographic data

General Administration

  • Collaborate closely with the Convening team to optimize attendee experience

  • Assist with Convening website maintenance via

  • Additional administrative and production support as needed


  • Experience working in the cultural sector, particularly within and around alternative and artist-run projects

  • Significant capacity for organizing logistics and tracking detailed information

  • Thoughtful and personable demeanor with strong communication skills

  • Comfort with learning and managing – or prior experience with – online systems for ticketing and sales (Stripe, Eventbrite, and others)

Job Specifications

  • Contractor must be able to provide their own computer and a reliable internet connection

Job Schedule

Weekly hours throughout the planning process will be 20hrs/week. In the weeks leading up to the Convening in October and throughout the Convening in early November, additional hours will be required, at times beyond 40hrs/week. These overtime hours (beyond 40hrs/week) will be billed at time and a half rate.
