Open Call for Art- The Perfect Age
Due Mar 11 2022

What does it mean to age, and how would you describe it?

Everything in the natural and constructed world evolves and is seen through the lens of time. Consider how society perceives the aging process, from the first cry of an infant, to the deeper awakening of a teenager, to the life experience of the centenarian. How do memories and stories morph over time? How do our perceptions of aging extend to other living things? Or to the way animate and inanimate things change and mature over time -- animals, oceans, soils, stars, machines, roads, water systems, and architecture?

How does ageism exist as a socially constructed system? Can we understand ageism apart from race, class, and gender? How are economic markets influencing these categories for profit?

The objective of the exhibition is to explore the transient and universal nature of aging and how it can be visualized and interpreted across time and cultures.

All media is welcomed to apply to this exhibition!
