Emily Artinian

Philadelphia/Cochranville, PA

Emily studied Book Arts at Camberwell in London and Russian Language and Literature at Yale and Columbia Universities. She has taught at Chelsea and Central St Martins in London and at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. Her art practice has included the NPAK residency in Yerevan, Armenia, participation in the 53rd Venice Biennale, and membership in the collectives FACTION and Underconstruction. She was a studio artist and board member at the Delaware Contemporary, and is a member of the community organization Network Delaware. She is the Founder and Director of Street Road, an experimental 5-acre site in Pennsylvania that she developed as an evolution of her family‚Äôs real estate business and as a place for challenging received wisdom about ownership, especially of land. She and her husband live in Philadelphia, with three sweet cats: Fred, Smudge, and Littles.
