Dafna Steinberg

Dafna Steinberg is an adjunct faculty member in Studio Arts at Northern Virginia Community College. Originally a native of Washington, DC, Dafna received her BA in Photography from Hampshire College and her MA in Photography and Urban Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London. She also holds a certificate in General Studies from the International Center of Photography. Dafna has been an artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT), Sou’wester (Seaview, WA) and Starry Night Artist Retreat (Truth or Consequences, NM). She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including shows at Ford Gallery (Portland), Arc Gallery and Studios (San Francisco), Flashpoint Gallery (DC), the Katzen Arts Center (DC), Lunchbox Gallery (Miami), SOHO20Gallery (NYC), Woolley Mammoth Theater (DC) and the International Center of Photography School (NYC).  Ms. Steinberg’s work has spanned a variety of mediums, including photography, video, collage, installation and performance. She works with themes that relate to the experiences of women and the fragmentation of the female body much of which is in response to the current political and cultural climate.
