Claire Frost

San Francisco, CA

Claire Frost is Curatorial Assistant at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. In addition to BAMPFA, she has held positions at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, and ArtSpan. She has been living and working in San Francisco since 2011, with a two year hiatus for grad school in Chicago, where she received her MA in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her graduate studies focused on the intersection of identity and historiography and the way in which artists’ communities are documented. This research allowed her to blend her interest in archival materials with theories of information distribution and artistic practice/process. She is the co-founder and co-curator of the curatorial collective and COLLABO, and has recently started a new project, conveniently titled Claire Frost, through which she is curating solo exhibitions in her apartment in San Francisco.
