The Robert McLaughlin Gallery

Oshawa, CA

The Robert McLaughlin Gallery is located in Oshawa, Ontario.  We acknowledge that, Oshawa, the land on which we live, learn, work, and play is located on treaty land of the Mississaugas of the Scugog Island Nation, and the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat and the Anishinaabe. Today, our Indigenous communities continue to contribute to the life of this city and to celebrate their heritage, practice traditions, and care for the land and waterways as sacred.

The Robert McLaughlin Gallery believes that Oshawa and Durham Region flourish through arts, culture and community connection and resilience. Founded in 1967 the RMG was created to support the presentation of modern and contemporary Canadian art and to facilitate meaningful cultural engagement in Durham Region, Ontario. We are the largest gallery in Durham Region and the only gallery in Oshawa, where we are located in the downtown core adjacent to many public spaces and thoroughfares.

We work together with our communities to create conversations through the arts that encourage people to experience the world differently. As a contemporary art gallery, we produce innovative and timely exhibitions that recognize our collective responsibility to contend with the past and work towards a more just, equitable, and expansive future.
