Alice Wu

Oakland, CA

I am an artist and designer, arts administrator, and creative business coach. I use both she/they pronouns. With over two decades of experience, I enjoy helping artists and arts workers thrive and be changemakers. I was raised between the United States and Taiwan; while my art career is rooted in New York City, I'm now based in Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area. I have worked primarily with non-profit and artist-run spaces. As an artist, my work may be best known as co-founder of Feral Childe (2000-2015). Current activities are a hybrid of studio practice, curatorial projects, arts administration, and business coaching for creative entrepreneurs. I've worked in various roles at the San Francisco Arts Commission, Kala Art Institute, and NIAD Art Center, among others. Recent projects include guest curatorial projects with the Chinese Culture Center in San Francisco, Artist Professional Development Workshops at Ta(r)dino 6 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and participation in Trans-Europe Halles/Ta(r)dino 6's Cultural Accelerator program, a capacity-building initiative for arts organizers in the Caucasus, Europe, and beyond.
