Carrie Brummer

Spring, TX

Carrie Brummer is an artist who has exhibited internationally, including locations across Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. Her claim to fame is having her work in short term exhibitions at both The Smithsonian and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She has also placed as a finalist in the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award and the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series.

Carrie studied art and art history at Colgate University and Educational Leadership at The George Washington University. Her background in education led her to travel the world and live for 9 years in the Middle East.

She is drawn to materials and themes that are labelled: decorative, feminist, and craft. They include acrylic paint, gold leaf, pencil and embroidery. Her solo exhibition, “Anonymous Woman,” at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orleans, Canada won her a grant through Arts Network Ottawa. She is currently working towards a new group of works as an extension of her recent exhibition.
