South Jersey Cultural Alliance

Collaboration, Resources, and Shared Experience

Almost three decades ago, a group of forward-thinking people had a vision for southern New Jersey’s arts, culture, and history community. The region was rich in cultural offerings – from museums and living history villages to performing arts venues and educational programs but each organization was doing its own thing, with only casual and informal collaboration.

South Jersey Cultural Alliance was founded to bring art, history, and cultural organizations together with individual artists and creatives for everyone’s mutual benefit. Since its founding, SJCA has grown to support more than 800 members: each is unique, providing its own brand of valuable programming and community contribution.

SJCA’s membership among its greatest assets. Acting as a mechanism for exchanging ideas, providing mutual support, and learning from the experience of others. Each of our members comes together to build each other up and strengthen the cultural community of South Jersey.

Today’s SJCA is a dynamic organization, bringing decades of talent, skill, and experience under one virtual roof – a key resource that strengthens the nonprofit cultural community with collaboration, information, and overall cross-pollination.

SJCA’s Mission

The mission of SJCA is to strengthen arts, culture, and history organizations and independent artists within New Jersey’s eight southern counties through connection, collaboration, advocacy, education,  and resource development.

SJCA envisions a region where individuals of all ages and backgrounds are engaged and enriched through the arts, history, and culture, of South Jersey and where communities prosper through a creative economy.

SJCA is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
