Yara Liceaga-Rojas

I’m a queer mother, poet|writer, performer, cultural manager, grant writer, and educator. I was born in Puerto Rico where I was raised right in front of the beach. Something of that landscape is always within me. Since I was a child, I’ve had a weakness for the analysis of human relationships, how are bonds, happiness, distances, and misunderstandings created. I’m blown away by poetry’s ability to expose what’s hidden in reality, those truths that are not self-evident.

I write, perform, and create multidisciplinary arts projects and workshops in response to my urge to keep on building the world I’m interested in: sustainable, just, loving, kind, inclusive, honest. I've developed a caring consultancy practice to provide my peers and colleagues the tools and skills they need to have a sustainable arts & culture practice.

I was not raised to compete, but rather to share space.

Long-term relationships are the ones I nurture and promote in every single aspect of my life.
