Organizing Towards A Commons: A Text for Terremoto

Last year, Mexico City-based arts magazine Terremoto reached out to us to commission an essay reflecting on Common Field’s history and purpose. Published in Issue 11 and written by founding members James McAnally and Stephanie Sherman, the essay details Common Field’s origins within the context of the artist organization field—and the determined and continued existence and values of both. Read it on our website, or Terremoto’s.

New Website Focus: Resources

Common Field has either spearheaded the making of or collaborated with other organizers on toolkits and guides. Check out our working list of resources available to those in our field, or the Los Angeles directory of artists organizations we compiled in time for last year’s Convening. This material and more is available in the Resource section of our website.
