In 2016, Women’s Center for Creative Work (LA) hosted Carol Zou formerly from Trans.lation Vickery Meadow (Dallas) as artist-in-residence. Zou’s residency focused on sharing lessons learned from the affordable housing struggle in Dallas, TX with Los Angeles-based groups working on affordable housing, with the ultimate goal of activating cross-regional support systems. In response, Zou published CULTURE is CAPITAL, a poetic zine featuring an essay and artworks on the space between Los Angeles and Texas, artists and artwashing, culture and capital.
