Fund for Black Artist Organizations

A Fund to Support Black Founded and Led Visual Artists' Organizations

Common Field is redistributing $15,000 to support small Black visual arts organizations. We invite partners to invest additional funds in this effort. We will direct all membership fees received and donations made to Common Field from June 1 to July 15, 2020 to the fund.

Common Field recognizes that, in this movement of global uprisings to defend Black lives, it is essential we support those at the forefront of this work. We seek to uplift and invest in the critical and important arts organizing being done in our field by Black arts organizations, projects and arts organizers. At this time, we also recognize that many organizations have changed course, expanded their roles and are supporting their communities in responsive, new and transformative ways.

Common Field's model is to actively redistribute resources to our national network - leveraging our position to support work in our field. It’s a core value of Common Field’s to demonstrate equitable pay and to center mutual support.
